New scan aims to predict thyroid cancer spread, guide surgery

NCT ID NCT07357571

Summary

This study is testing whether a special type of ultrasound scan can help doctors better predict if and how much early-stage thyroid cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes before surgery. Researchers will look back at scans and medical records from 600 patients to see if the scan's features can accurately match what was found during surgery. The goal is to help surgeons choose the most appropriate operation for each patient, avoiding overly aggressive or insufficient treatment.
