Simple scan could warn doctors of dangerous blood pressure drops in elderly surgery
NCT ID NCT07411313
Summary
This study is testing if a quick, non-invasive ultrasound scan of the neck vein can predict which older patients will experience a dangerous drop in blood pressure during spinal anesthesia for surgery. Researchers will observe 85 patients aged 65 and older having planned surgery. They will use the ultrasound measurements taken before surgery to see if they can accurately forecast this common complication.
