Back injection could slash painkiller use after hip surgery

NCT ID NCT07240961

Summary

This study is testing if a special ultrasound-guided injection in the lower back, given during surgery, helps control pain better after a total hip replacement. Researchers will compare patients who get this injection to those who receive standard pain medications. The main goal is to see if the injection reduces the need for strong opioid painkillers in the first 24 hours after surgery.
