Nerve block quiets the Heart's electrical storm
NCT ID NCT07375264
Summary
This study tested a procedure that blocks specific nerves in the neck to calm severe, life-threatening heart rhythm storms that don't respond to standard treatments. Doctors followed 18 adult patients to see if this ultrasound-guided nerve block was safe and effective at reducing dangerous heart rhythms over a 12-month period. The goal was to control the condition and reduce the need for painful shocks from implanted defibrillators.
