Heart ablation gets safer: ultrasound cuts radiation in new trial

NCT ID NCT07201506

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests if using a tiny ultrasound camera inside the heart during ablation for ventricular arrhythmias can reduce the need for X-rays. About 70 adults with premature ventricular contractions or ventricular tachycardia will be randomly assigned to receive ablation with or without this internal ultrasound. The main goal is to see if the ultrasound approach cuts radiation exposure while keeping the procedure safe and effective.
