First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tested two different ultrasound-guided nerve blocks to see which one better controls pain and improves lung function in people with multiple broken ribs. Fifty adults with at least three rib fractures received one of the two blocks. The goal was to find a better way to manage pain, help patients breathe more deeply, and reduce the risk of complications like pneumonia.
