Ultrasound could make heart rhythm procedures safer

NCT ID NCT06403527

Summary

This study tested whether using ultrasound to guide needle insertion into a vein reduces complications during procedures to treat atrial fibrillation (AFib). It involved over 1,000 adults scheduled for a catheter ablation, which uses heat or cold to correct irregular heartbeats. The main goal was to see if this ultrasound technique lowered the risk of bleeding or other problems at the vein access site within 30 days after the procedure.
