Could a simple ultrasound scan make anesthesia safer for moms?

NCT ID NCT07423741

Summary

This study aims to see if ultrasound scans of the neck can better predict when placing a breathing tube during surgery will be difficult, especially for pregnant women. Researchers will compare ultrasound measurements to traditional check-up methods in three groups: non-pregnant women, healthy pregnant women, and pregnant women with high blood pressure (preeclampsia). The goal is to find a faster, more accurate way to spot potential airway problems before surgery to improve safety.
