Ultrasound scans aim to predict breathing tube difficulties in obese surgery patients

NCT ID NCT07482436

Summary

This study aims to find better ways to predict and manage the placement of a breathing tube (intubation) in obese patients before surgery. Researchers will compare traditional physical exams with ultrasound scans of the neck and throat to see which is better at spotting potential difficulties. They will also test three different types of scopes used for intubation to see which leads to faster, more successful placement and fewer complications.
