Doctors test handheld ultrasound to spot hidden rib injuries
NCT ID NCT07338617
Summary
This study aims to see if using a handheld ultrasound device alongside standard CT scans helps doctors find more rib cartilage fractures. Researchers will follow 100 adults with chest injuries for a year to see if finding these fractures changes treatment plans, like recommending surgery. They will also track how these injuries heal and affect patients' pain and lung function over time.
