Summary

This study looked at whether ultrasound measurements of the tongue and neck can predict when placing a breathing tube will be difficult in adult women having planned surgery. Researchers measured tongue thickness and neck tissue in 400 women before anesthesia and compared these to how easy or hard the tube placement was. The goal is to find a simple, reliable way to improve safety and avoid complications during anesthesia.
