New scan could help ICU patients swallow safely after breathing tube
NCT ID NCT05922085
Summary
This study is testing if a simple bedside ultrasound scan can identify which ICU patients on breathing machines are at risk for swallowing problems after the breathing tube is removed. Swallowing issues can lead to serious lung infections and longer hospital stays. Researchers will compare the ultrasound results to a standard camera test to see if it's a reliable early warning tool.
