Could a simple neck scan make surgery safer?
NCT ID NCT07343557
Summary
This study tested whether a quick ultrasound scan of the neck and tongue before surgery could help predict if placing a breathing tube would be difficult. Researchers performed these scans on 400 women having planned surgery and then compared the measurements to what doctors saw during the actual procedure. The goal is to find a reliable, non-invasive way to spot potential airway problems ahead of time to improve patient safety.
