Sound waves aimed at hardened heart valves in groundbreaking trial
NCT ID NCT06650839
Summary
This early-stage study aimed to test the safety of a new, non-surgical treatment for moderate aortic valve stenosis, a condition where the heart's main valve stiffens. The treatment uses focused ultrasound waves, guided by live imaging, to try to soften the calcified valve tissue. The trial was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
