Ultrasound could prevent surgery injuries by spotting hidden scar tissue
NCT ID NCT07605533
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests how well a belly ultrasound can find internal scar tissue (adhesions) before keyhole surgery. Scar tissue can make it risky to insert the first surgical tool, so knowing where it is could help avoid injury. The study will include 74 women who have had past abdominal surgeries and are scheduled for a laparoscopy. Researchers will compare ultrasound results with what surgeons actually see during the operation.
