First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 19, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study is testing whether using ultrasound during and after a carotid artery stenting procedure can reduce the risk of stroke. The ultrasound aims to detect and potentially break up tiny blood clots that can form during the procedure. Researchers will enroll 232 patients with severe carotid artery narrowing who are scheduled for stenting to see if this approach leads to fewer brain injuries.
