Ultrasound may predict breathing trouble in toddlers during surgery

NCT ID NCT07394686

First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using ultrasound to measure the airway in children under 3 years old can help predict breathing problems during and after surgery. Researchers will take ultrasound measurements of the upper airway while the child is under anesthesia and see if those measurements relate to any breathing issues that occur. The goal is to better understand which children might be at higher risk, so doctors can improve safety.
