First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested whether measuring a specific angle on ultrasound can help doctors place a tube (catheter) into a newborn's belly button vein more accurately. 78 babies born at 24 weeks or later took part. The goal was to see if this angle predicts correct placement and if ultrasound guidance improves success.
