First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at how a single meal of ultra-processed food (like packaged snacks and sugary drinks) affects hunger, fullness, and how much people eat at their next meal, compared to a meal of minimally processed foods. Twenty-four healthy adults will eat different test breakfasts and then have their appetite and blood markers measured. The goal is to understand why ultra-processed foods might lead to overeating and weight gain.
