Doctors test if tinkering with gut treatment helps patients live better

NCT ID NCT05271773

Summary

This study followed 234 adults with ulcerative colitis to see if changing their medication dose or type, based on how healed their gut looked during a colonoscopy, improved their daily life and reduced flare-ups. Doctors tracked patients' quality of life and inflammation markers for a year after their colonoscopy. The goal was to learn the best way to manage treatment for people whose gut appears mostly healed.
