Inside the body: MRI scans aim to predict diabetes complications years in advance

Summary
This study aims to understand if a detailed MRI scan of the liver and other organs can predict who with type 2 diabetes is most at risk for future serious health problems like heart attacks, kidney failure, or vision loss. It will follow 1,000 adults with type 2 diabetes but no history of heart disease for five years. The study does not test a new treatment; it observes participants to gather knowledge about how the disease progresses.
