Cord blood cells may heal radiation-damaged lungs

Summary

This early-stage study tests if cells from umbilical cord blood can safely help people with lung injury caused by chest radiation therapy. Ten adults aged 18-75 whose lung damage did not improve with standard care will receive the cell treatment. The goal is to see if it reduces lung scarring and eases breathing problems.
