Typhoid vaccine study probes hidden immune changes in the gut
NCT ID NCT03970304
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looks at how the typhoid vaccine changes the immune system and bacteria in the gut. About 87 adults who are already having a colonoscopy will either get the vaccine before or after the procedure, or not get it at all. Researchers will collect tissue, blood, saliva, and stool samples to measure immune cell responses. The goal is to learn more about how the vaccine works, not to treat or prevent disease in the participants.
