New approach aims to make vital lung transplant check-ups safer

NCT ID NCT06422273

Summary

This study is testing if applying a common anti-bleeding medication directly to the airways before a biopsy can make the procedure safer for lung transplant patients. Researchers will compare the medication, tranexamic acid, to a saltwater placebo in 94 patients to see which one better prevents bleeding. The goal is to improve patient safety, get better tissue samples for diagnosis, and potentially standardize how these important check-ups are done.
