Cheap drug slashes recovery complications for breast cancer patients
NCT ID NCT07434453
Summary
This study tested whether applying a common, inexpensive medication called tranexamic acid directly into the surgical wound, along with a special stitching technique, could improve recovery after breast cancer surgery. Involving 62 female patients, researchers compared this combined method to the stitching technique alone. The results showed the medication significantly reduced painful fluid collection and wound infections, offering a safe and cost-effective way to help patients heal better.
