Simple Pre-Surgery injection cuts blood loss in bone fracture operations

NCT ID NCT07261930

Summary

This study tested whether giving a single dose of a drug called tranexamic acid (TXA) before surgery could safely reduce bleeding in patients having surgery for a broken thigh bone. The drug helps blood to clot. Researchers gave the injection to 43 adults in Uganda before their operation and then measured their blood loss afterwards to see if it helped.
