Common drug could make facial surgery safer by cutting blood loss

NCT ID NCT07392034

Summary

This study tested whether giving the drug tranexamic acid (TXA) before surgery for facial injuries could safely reduce bleeding during the operation. It involved 60 patients who needed surgery within a week of their trauma. The goal was to see if TXA could lower blood loss, reduce the need for blood transfusions, and help patients recover better.
