First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tested whether giving tranexamic acid (TXA) through a vein during shoulder arthroscopy improves the surgeon's view and reduces bleeding. 121 adults with rotator cuff tears took part. The drug is already used in other surgeries to control bleeding. The goal was to see if it should become routine for shoulder procedures.
