First seen Nov 24, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding tranexamic acid (a medicine that helps blood clot) to standard surgery can prevent chronic subdural hematoma from coming back. About 274 adults with a symptomatic brain bleed will be randomly assigned to receive surgery alone or surgery plus the drug. The main goal is to see if fewer people need a second surgery within 90 days.
