Folk dance prescription: a rhythmic step to stronger bones?

NCT ID NCT07068113

Summary

This study tested whether adding regular Turkish folk dancing to a standard home exercise program could help control bone loss in postmenopausal women with low bone mass (osteopenia). Researchers compared 81 women aged 50-60, with one group doing dances like horon and halay via online videos, while the other group just did home exercises and walking. The goal was to see if dancing improved bone density, balance, fitness, and overall quality of life more than standard exercise alone.
