Scientists probe tumors with tiny catheters and sound waves

NCT ID NCT04054154

Summary

This small, completed study tested whether two new tools could safely measure pressure and stiffness inside solid tumors. Doctors used a tiny catheter and a special ultrasound during scheduled biopsies in 27 patients. The main goal was to see if these measurements are possible and if they relate to internal tumor scarring, which could help future research.
