New 'Tubeless' lung transplant method aims to help patients breathe on their own sooner
NCT ID NCT07120230
Summary
This study tested a new 'tubeless' anesthesia method for lung transplant surgery. Instead of using a standard breathing tube, doctors used a different airway device and sedation plan. The goal was to see if patients could wake up faster, avoid needing a breathing machine after surgery, and recover more quickly.
