Study tests whether early surgery or watchful waiting is better for twin complications
NCT ID NCT01220011
Summary
This trial aimed to find the best approach for early-stage twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), a serious condition where twins share a placenta unevenly. It compared immediate laser surgery to careful weekly monitoring, with surgery only if the condition worsened. The goal was to see which approach led to better survival and brain health for babies by six months of age.
