First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested a combination of three treatments—core decompression, stromal vascular fraction (a type of cell therapy), and hyperbaric oxygen therapy—in 24 patients with early-stage osteonecrosis (bone death) of the hip. The goal was to improve hip function and stop the disease from getting worse. After two years, the researchers measured changes in hip scores and checked if any patients needed a hip replacement.
