Triple therapy may save hips from collapse

NCT ID NCT07560163

First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested a three-part treatment for early-stage osteonecrosis (bone death) of the hip in 24 patients. The therapy combined core decompression (drilling to relieve pressure), stromal vascular fraction (cells from the patient's own fat), and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber). Over two years, the goal was to improve hip function and prevent the need for a hip replacement. The treatment aims to control the disease and avoid joint collapse, but ongoing monitoring is needed.
