First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This trial tests a new device that clips together the leaflets of a leaky tricuspid valve, aiming to fix it without open-heart surgery. It will enroll 132 people with severe tricuspid regurgitation who are already on standard medications. The study compares the clip plus medication to medication alone, tracking deaths, reoperations, hospital readmissions, and symptom improvement over one year.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
transcatheter tricuspid valve clipping system
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a less invasive treatment option for people with severe tricuspid regurgitation, potentially reducing symptoms and hospital stays.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage trial with only 132 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The procedure carries risks like bleeding, infection, or device complications.
