Heart valve repair may cut hospital stays for severe heart failure patients
NCT ID NCT04634266
First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a minimally invasive procedure to fix a leaky tricuspid heart valve can help people with advanced heart failure. About 360 participants with severe valve leakage and a recent heart failure hospitalization or related organ problems will be randomly assigned to either the valve repair plus standard medications or medications alone. The goal is to see if the procedure reduces deaths, hospitalizations, and improves quality of life over one to three years.
