First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tests whether a dietary supplement called tributyrin can help people with type 2 diabetes better control their blood sugar, reduce inflammation, and lower their risk of heart disease. About 60 adults with type 2 diabetes and a higher heart risk will receive either tributyrin plus their usual diabetes care or usual care alone. The study is double-blind and randomized, meaning neither participants nor doctors know who gets the supplement.
