Fiji launches major trial to wipe out widespread parasitic diseases
NCT ID NCT07159373
Summary
This large study aims to see if a new combination of medicines (MoxDA) works better and is as safe as the current standard (IDA) for controlling three parasitic infections: lymphatic filariasis, scabies, and strongyloidiasis. About 5,100 children and adults in Fijian communities where these diseases are common will take three single doses of the assigned drug combination over two years. Researchers will check if the new combination clears the infections and monitor for any side effects.
