Head-down position may ease post-surgery shoulder pain

Summary
This study tests if tilting a patient's head down (Trendelenburg position) during removal of surgical gas after laparoscopic gynecologic surgery reduces shoulder pain compared to lying flat. About 120 women having robot-assisted surgery for non-cancer reasons will take part. They will report pain, bloating, and nausea 24 and 72 hours after surgery.
