Could a simple Head-Down position boost stroke recovery?

NCT ID NCT06010641

First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether lying with the head lower than the body (head-down position) can improve recovery in people who have had a moderate stroke due to large artery blockage. Researchers will compare outcomes in 600 adults who receive standard care plus head-down positioning versus standard care alone. The goal is to see if this simple, drug-free approach leads to better functional independence after 90 days.
