New hope against superbug: study tests best antibiotic cocktail for ICU patients

Summary

This study looks at which combination of antibiotics works best for a tough-to-treat bacterial infection (CRAB) in intensive care unit patients. About 108 surgical patients over 18 with signs of infection will receive one of three drug combos. The goal is to clear the bacteria from samples, improve survival, and reduce time in the hospital.
