NCT ID NCT07543796
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a new painkiller called TRD205 for people recovering from hip replacement surgery. About 200 adults will receive either TRD205, a placebo, or an active comparator (celecoxib) to see how well it controls pain and reduces the need for rescue opioids. The goal is to find a safer, effective option for postoperative pain.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
TRD205 tablets
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a new, non-opioid option for managing pain after hip replacement surgery, potentially reducing reliance on opioids.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 2 trial with only 200 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug may not prove more effective than existing painkillers or could have unexpected side effects.
