Blood gas test could refine ICU care for trauma victims
NCT ID NCT07480655
Summary
This study is comparing two ways to guide treatment for adults with multiple serious injuries in the intensive care unit (ICU). One group's care will be guided by measuring a specific difference in carbon dioxide levels between two types of blood samples. The other group will receive standard care guided by common ICU measurements. Researchers will check if the new monitoring method leads to better outcomes, like shorter time on a breathing machine.
