Hip surgery drug slashes blood loss and complications

Summary

This study tests whether giving tranexamic acid during hip replacement surgery reduces blood loss, the need for blood transfusions, and abnormal bone growth. About 1000 adults having planned hip replacement will receive the drug directly into the joint. The goal is to improve recovery and lower healthcare costs.
