Summary
This study tests whether tranexamic acid, a drug that helps blood clot, can lower the need for blood transfusions in adults having major abdominal surgery. About 850 participants will receive either the drug or a placebo before and after surgery. The main goal is to see if fewer people need a blood transfusion, while also checking for safety.
