Summary

This study looks at whether teaching children with developmental language disorder (DLD) to use self-directed speech (talking to themselves) can improve their ability to switch between tasks—a skill called cognitive flexibility. Researchers will work with 75 children aged 8–10, including some with DLD and some with typical language development. The goal is to understand how language training affects brain activity and behavior, which could lead to better interventions for kids with DLD.
