Nurse training boosts injection skills, study finds

NCT ID NCT05510492

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at whether extra training helps nurses give intramuscular injections more correctly. 95 nurses were split into two groups: one got hands-on training with a dummy, the other did not. Researchers checked if trained nurses were better at finding the right spot (ventrogluteal site), using an air lock, and applying the Z-track technique. The goal is to improve injection safety and patient comfort.
