Can we train immune cells to attack cancer? new study explores possibility
NCT ID NCT05280379
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looked at how immune cells from people with thyroid or colon cancer might be 'trained' to better fight tumors. Researchers collected blood and bone marrow samples from 33 newly diagnosed patients before they started treatment. They tested whether certain agents could reprogram these immune cells to become more cancer-fighting. The goal was to gather knowledge for future immunotherapies, not to provide direct treatment.
