First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special device called TrachPhone is better than a standard humidifier at helping people with a tracheostomy (a breathing tube in the neck) manage mucus in their lungs. The study will include 22 adults who have a tracheostomy due to a neurological condition and are breathing on their own. Researchers will measure how often suctioning is needed, the quality of secretions, and overall quality of life.
